This Cancellation Policy describes how Users can cancel activity on the Gigoe Platform, the consequences of cancellation for the Provider's Wallet and Platform Fee, and Gigoe's rights to terminate a User's access.
Three types of cancellation are covered:
A Job Provider may cancel their own Job Post at any time before the scheduled job time. The financial consequence depends on the stage of the Job and the timing of cancellation:
| Stage / Timing | Platform Fee | What happens to the Worker |
|---|---|---|
| Cancelled before any Worker has been matched | Not applicable — no Fee deducted yet | No impact. |
| Cancelled after a Worker has been matched, but before the Provider confirms the Worker | Not applicable — no Fee deducted yet | Worker's match is released; no impact on Worker's rating or eligibility. |
| Cancelled after the Provider confirms the Worker, and more than 24 hours before the scheduled job time | Refunded to Wallet (see Refund Policy) | Worker is notified of cancellation; Job is removed from Worker's schedule. Cancellation is recorded but does not affect the Provider's ability to post new Jobs. |
| Cancelled after the Provider confirms the Worker, and within 24 hours of the scheduled job time | Forfeited — not refunded | Worker is notified. Repeated late cancellations by the same Provider may result in temporary or permanent restriction on the Provider's ability to post new Jobs. |
| Cancelled due to documented force majeure (medical emergency, natural disaster, curfew, or similar) | Refunded to Wallet | Worker is notified. No adverse consequence for Provider. |
From the Gigoe mobile application, open My Job Posts → select the Job → tap Cancel Job → choose a cancellation reason from the list → confirm. Cancellations must be made via the app to be recorded correctly. Cancellations communicated to the Worker directly (outside the app) are not recognised by the Platform and do not stop Platform Fee forfeiture.
| Timing | Effect on Provider | Effect on Worker |
|---|---|---|
| Worker declines a match before accepting the Job | None — the Platform will attempt to match another Worker. | None; declining an unaccepted match is a normal use of the Platform. |
| Worker cancels after accepting the Job, more than 24 hours before scheduled job time | Platform Fee refunded to Provider Wallet. | Cancellation is recorded on the Worker's profile. Repeated cancellations may reduce dispatch priority. |
| Worker cancels after accepting the Job, within 24 hours of scheduled job time | Platform Fee refunded to Provider Wallet. | Cancellation is recorded and treated as a strong signal against dispatch reliability. Repeated late cancellations may result in temporary or permanent restriction on the Worker's ability to accept new Jobs. |
| Worker fails to appear at the scheduled job time without cancelling | Platform Fee refunded to Provider Wallet. | Treated more severely than an in-app cancellation. Repeated no-shows may result in immediate suspension pending review. |
| Worker cancels due to documented force majeure | Platform Fee refunded to Provider Wallet. | No adverse consequence for Worker. |
Any User may voluntarily close their Gigoe account at any time.
Gigoe may suspend or terminate a User's access to the Platform, with or without prior notice, on any of the grounds set out in the Terms & Conditions, Section 9 — including breach of Terms, failure to complete required identity verification, fraudulent or unlawful activity, ten or more consecutive failed login attempts for ops portal accounts, or a court or regulatory order.
On termination:
Neither party is responsible for cancellations caused by force majeure events — including natural disasters, government-mandated closures, curfews, medical emergencies, and other circumstances outside reasonable control. Force-majeure cancellations are treated favourably for both Provider and Worker as set out in the tables above.
Documentation may be requested (e.g. medical certificate, curfew notice) for repeated force-majeure claims by the same User.
For unresolved cancellation-related concerns:
Gigoe may update this Cancellation Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified through the Platform. The "Last Updated" date reflects the effective date of the most recent revision.
